Hailing from the metal stronghold of Uppsala, Sweden, Fayenne is a black metal band formed in 2015. Founded by vocalist and guitarist Andréa Hillgren, the band has since its inception operated within the darker corners of the Swedish underground scene. Their music combines raw and melodic black metal with complex riffing, intense tempo shifts, and atmospheric elements. Lyrically, the band explores themes such as occultism, chaos, alchemical symbolism, and destructive forces, often with a focus on female power and apocalyptic imagery. After several years in the underground and two demos, Fayenne continued to refine their sound and in 2026 released their debut album The Calling from the Depth, where the band further develops its blend of melodic and raw black metal. The album has been mastered by Lawrence Mackrory (Rorysound Studios). This physical edition, released on CD via Nigredo Records, is limited to 500 copies in a classic jewelcase format, making it a mandatory acquisition for collectors of the underground.
